The first stop on Faughnan’s education journey was the week-long National Chimney Sweep Training School at the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). This intensive program combines hands-on experience in the field with classroom training from industry experts.

How Champs Came Along

They focuses on topics like the operation of the equipment used to sweep and inspect different chimney systems as well as the codes, standards, and practices of the trade. At the end of the week, he passed the written exam to become a CSIA-certified chimney sweep. With this important accomplishment under his belt, he went on to work in an apprenticeship program. Once he had this experience, he was ready to open his own business in the Capital District of New York. Then, Champs Chimney Service was born!
